As promised, I made a batch of Mini Black & White Cookies from the December issue of Gourmet Magazine. I loved this month's issue. It was loaded with lots of cookie recipes, some of which will be finding their way into my kitchen within the next couple of weeks. The cover of the magazine itself looks so beautiful. When I saw it I had to buy it.
I made the cookies, only they didn't exactly come out like the ones in the picture. Mine were puffier (is that a word?) Theirs look flat. Mine are rounded. The flavor of the cookie is great. You could eat the cookie without the icing and it would still taste great. It isn't too sweet so that when you put the icing on, it comes out just right. It was something different than I have ever made before, but they always caught my eye so I decided to make them when I saw them featured in the magazine. I will keep you posted as I make other cookies that they have featured.
