Buffalo wings & Oatmeal cookies

Hello All! Hope everyone had a good Halloween! We had Halloween on Saturday here. The town that we live in does not “celebrate” Halloween on Fridays (due to Football games), Sundays or on school nights so we always have trick or treating on Saturday. Would you believe I didn’t get 1 trick or treater! We moved out kind to the outskirts of town and they never really have trick or treaters there. When we took the kids out to trick or treat we didn’t see many kids out there either. Our town is fairly small so to me that was really unusual. I think we just got a later start than the other people. I don’t know about you guys, but I can’t seem to get used to this time change thing! I don’t like that it is already dark by 6. It feels awkward. I will probably finally get used to it …..when it is time to change the clocks again!

Last night I decided to finally brave it and make some buffalo wings. We had them with some deviled eggs. I know that sounds like a weird combination, but it was good! I liked the sauce, but woo wee was it hot. I actually liked them better without the sauce on them. I will probably make them again some other time, perhaps on a weekend when we have nothing going on. They weren’t hard or time consuming, but I really need to find some dinner ideas that come together quickly.

I told my family that I wasn’t going to bake anything, because I just didn’t feel like it! Wouldn’t you know it, once I finished the wings and eggs I pulled out my bowl and cookie sheets and made these Oatmeal cookies! I can’t help it! I love to bake! I just got this recipe from the Crisco files. They are so moist and delicious. I wanted to be different and add some Craisins in it instead, but chickened out. I was afraid the family wouldn’t eat them and I would be stuck with a whole lot of cookies, so I just used golden raisins. I did, however, forget to bring me some to snack on during work. Bummer! Oh well, more for later!

The cookies look good! I bet they'd be fine with the Craisins. They're sweet and yummy. I like dried cherries in my cookies...

Sorry, I haven't read any further into your post! Your comment about not celebrating Halloween on Fridays or Sundays totally dumbfounded me! I'll continue reading right away....
