Me, Me, Me, Me, Me!!!

Okay. I have been tagged for my first meme by my lil sis at poco-cocoa So here goes..

What is your first memory of baking/cooking on your own?
I think my first experience with baking was when I got one of my mom's brownie mix boxes and asked if I could make it. I still get teased about it because I was following the directions on the box and after I added the egg and oil I looked at the box. It said to mix the ingredients by hand....well, guess what I did! Yup I mixed it with my hand. Mom came in and started laughing and told me that it meant with a spoon and not my actual hand. And I want to be a pastry chef???

Who had the most influence on your cooking?
I guess I would have to say my mom. I watched her bake and cook and wanted to be like her. I used to watch her make and decorate cakes for showers and parties and I always wanted to do it to. I grew up baking a lot and my poor family always had to be my testers. Oh poor things... they even ate my cakes made from my easy bake oven. I know that wasn't good. They still are my testers to this day! Everytime I make something I always take some to my parents to try and tell me if it was good or not. If my dream ever comes true and I get to open my own bakery, I will rely on them to tell me what is good enough to put on the shelves.

Do you have an old photo as “evidence” of an early exposure to the culinary world and would you like to share it?
None that I can think of. Maybe I will check with mom.

Mageiricophobia – do you suffer from any cooking phobia, a dish that makes your palms sweat?
I can't think of anything right now, but I bet I will after I post this.

What would be your most valued or used kitchen gadgets and/or what was the biggest letdown?
Most valued: I guess that would be my mixer. I use it alot to bake.
Biggest letdowns: A little chopper that I bought at the store last year. It was supposed to chop onions so you didn't have to smell them or cry. Well, the first time I used it I pressed down on it and the blades just bent.

Name some funny or weird food combinations/dishes you really like – and probably no one else! I too love pickle juice snocones. I don't care to eat pickles that much but I can polish off a large pickle juice sno cone!

What are the three eatables or dishes you simply don’t want to live without?Cheesecake, red enchiladas, chocolate cake

Any question you missed in this meme, that you would have loved to answer?
Well then, feel free to add one!
Nothing I can think of.

Three quickies:Your favorite ice-cream…I like to eat plain old sherbet

You will probably never eat…tofu

Your own signature dish…I think it would be my fried chicken. My family says it is the best. I hate to make it though because it is so messy and takes too long.

I am not sure who to pass this to since I am a new blogger but if you would like to jump in please feel free!

Hi. Michelle sent me.

Tip for cutting onions--Breathe through your mouth. It's the airborn onion juice going past the tear ducts that makes your eyes water.

Thanks for stopping by - your blog has totally made me hungry.

My cooking phobia is hamburgers - I can make complicated things like lasagne, no problem, but hamburgers? They're either raw or charcoal.

I wanted an easy bake oven so badly, but never got one. I also seriously considered becoming a pastry chef, but I guess for me it makes a better hobby.

I saw this on crystal's blog and was wishing she had tagged me because this is a good one. I know it will take me a few days to get it up because I just but up another big meme, but if you don't mind I'd liked like to tag myself.
